WHO CAN AUDITION: Any student from 3rd thru 7th grade with the ability to memorize lines and music, sing and take direction. Also, these roles have the most stage time of ANY of the roles...so, will need to be able to be at rehearsals up to 3 times a week from 6 to 8 (and the occasional after school dance rehearsal). Leads may go till 9:00 p.m. ROLES AVAILABLE FOR 3rd-7th Graders: See roles under "ROLES" page AUDITIONS: May 22 3:30 to 8:00 or May 23 3:30 to 6:00 -For SINGING...Students come just for their short few minute time...first come/first serve -For DANCE...Student will have to be there there the full hour. -Parents may stay in the lobby or waiting room (Drama room) but may not be in the auditorium or choir room with their student. We will have a parent or two there who can answer some questions based on their experiences. -Students will be asked to sing a song (prepared in advance, see below) as well as participate in some dance. -Unfortunately, there are no alternative audition times. CHECK OUT SINGING AND DANCE AUDITION INFO! ____All students must attnd dance on Tuesday, May 22____ -FILL OUT 3-7 Audition Form to the left before coming to the audition: WHAT SHOULD THEY WEAR? -Come dressed for comfort and movement (avoid short skirt or dresses and shoes that don't allow fast movement) -Athletic shoes work best WHAT CAN THEY DO TO PREPARE? -Prepare their song (optional music below). -Practice introducing themselves to adults they may not know so they will feel comfortable doing that when nervous. -Watch the movie. -Speak to your school choir teacher about tips...they are a wealth of information!! WHEN WILL WE KNOW WHO IS CAST? -We hope to cast over the weekend following auditions. Callbacks will be held if necessary. ALL those that audition will be emailed one way or the other (parent email). MUSIC TO PREPARE: We would like all the children to learn "When you're a Wimp" (measures 1-37)...or other age appropriate Broadway upbeat song. See music below.
